Make Your First Video

  1. 01

    Accept the terms

Open Ear Fondle. Before you can render, tap Terms (next to the render button at the bottom), read the short License and agreement, and tap I agree. You only need to do this once on each device.

Until you agree, the Render MP4 button stays disabled and the app shows “Accept the terms to enable rendering.”

  2. 02

    Choose your song

In the SOURCE section, tap Choose an MP3 or WAV and pick an audio file from your phone. The whole song becomes the soundtrack of your video.

To pick a different song later, tap the song name again (“Tap to choose a different song”).

  3. 03

    Preview it

Tap the round Play button to hear the song and watch the visualizer react in the preview window. Drag along the track bar to jump to any point.

  4. 04

    Pick a look

Everything in the LOOK section is optional, so the defaults work fine. Change whatever you like:

    • Background image: tap Choose to add a picture (such as a JPG or PNG, under 25 MB). Use Replace to swap it or Remove background to go back to none.
    • Visualizer style: tap one of the animated tiles (Columns, Orbit, Current, Halo, Drift, Particles, Bubbles, Rise, Lattice).
    • Colour palette: tap a colour swatch (16 to choose from, from Tungsten to Ink).
    • Colour mode: the row of Hold Pulse Shift Split buttons changes how the palette colours are used. Try each one and watch the preview.
    • Drive and Motion sliders: fine-tune how strongly and how fast the visuals move with the music.
  5. 05

    Choose the frame size

In the FRAME section, pick the shape of your video:

    • 720p: landscape (1280×720), the default and the safest choice.
    • 1080p: landscape (1920×1080).
    • Story: tall phone format (1080×1920).
    • Square: 1:1 (1080×1080).

Bigger sizes look sharper but, as the app warns, “Higher sizes can run out of memory on a long song.”

  6. 06

    Add a title (optional)

With Title on the picture ticked, text appears on your video. Type a Main title (up to 48 characters) and a Secondary title (up to 32, pre-filled with “EarFondle”). Untick the box if you want no text at all.

  7. 07

    Render your MP4

Tap Render MP4. Just above the button, the app shows the estimated file size, the video dimensions and the file name it will save.

Leave Keep the screen on while rendering ticked (it is on by default). While it works, you’ll see progress such as “Drawing” and “Frame … of …”. Tap Cancel rendering if you need to stop.

If Ear Fondle asks to send notifications, that is optional: it only uses them to tell you when a render has finished.

  8. 08

    Find your video

When it’s done, the MP4 is saved in your phone’s Movies folder as EF_ followed by the song name (for example EF_My Song.mp4). Open it from your gallery or files app and share it wherever you like.

Troubleshooting

The Render MP4 button won’t work.

Make sure you have accepted the terms (tap Terms then I agree) and chosen a song. The note under the button tells you which one is missing.

It says the device ran out of memory, or the render failed.

Choose 720p, or try a shorter song. The app suggests exactly this when a render runs out of memory.

It says there isn’t enough free space.

Free up some storage on your phone and try again. The app checks the space it needs before saving.

My song or picture won’t load.

For audio, use an MP3 or WAV file. For the background, use a picture such as a JPG or PNG that is under 25 MB.

It says the device can’t encode an H.264 MP4.

Ear Fondle uses your phone’s own video encoder. Some devices don’t support it, and on those phones rendering isn’t possible.

Where did my video go?

Look in the Movies folder on your phone (or the Videos section of your gallery). The file name starts with EF_ followed by the song name.

How do I update Ear Fondle?

Download the newer APK from the Apps page and install it. It installs over your current version as long as it is signed with the same key.
